It takes a multi-awarded Ralston Jover (KUBRADOR, TIRADOR, FOSTER CHILD) as writer/director, a media-genius Albert Almendralejo as co-producer and Bessie Badilla also a co-producer to come up with a cinematic indi-film entitled BAKAL BOYS. To top the A-list, internationally acclaimed actress, Miss Gina Pareno plays the lead role of a Muslim grandmother in search of her missing grandson.

QB met for the first time, the stars of indi-film BAKAL BOYS. As co-producer, QB was delighted to meet and get-to-know the real life metal-scavenger-divers who were chosen by writer/director Ralston Jover among hundreds of children who auditioned.

A DAY with the CHILDREN of BASECO

QB, Albert Almendralejo, Ralston Jover, Badilla Family, Lito's Family and students and volunteers from San Beda hosted a post-Christmas party for some 47 children from Baseco, Tondo. Baseco was earlier developed as a port to accommodate the arrival of Prince Charles on board the QE. It later became a shipyard, building and repairing ships from all over the world. It was abandoned in 1986 and remained unused to the present. Today, Baseco is the country's largest squatter settlement which can be compared to the Favelas of Brazil.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS, SAO PAULO, BRAZIL

Lucas introduced us to his childhood friends Rodrigo and Gustavo. We also met his only sister Thais when we had our Saturday Feijoada and Picanha lunch in Sa Paulo. His cousin Neto came with us touring Iguassu Falls, Salvador-Bahia and a day at GUARUJA Beach south of Sao Paulo. Brasil is truly heaven on earth!

We made a lot of new friends on the boat like Elza, Claudia ang Gilles among the 16 passengers. Everyone was in a party mood, had caiperinha and live samba music on the boat! I LOVE BAHIA!!!!

Everyone should visit FOZ DE IGUASSU ( Iguassu Falls ) at least once in their lifetime. The magnificence of these falls will move you to tears... all the pictures I took with my ordinary Canon Digital Camera came out looking like POST CARDS! Unbelievable show of nature!

BAIANA DAY, Salvador, Bahia

We were lucky to visit Salvador, Bahia on Baiana Day when the local women donned their traditional frocks and paraded around town. We also had our first sea food dinner after days on end eating nothing but BEEF! The restaurant we chose is by the beach over looking the Atlantic Ocean! Great food, great location with the best of friends!
